Sushi San's intimate omakase space above their River North location will be led by Master Sushi Chef Kaze Chan. The long-awaited 18-course, $250 Omakase hits the Chicago sushi scene this Thursday, February 10th.
The newly constructed and designed space will host a ten-seat sushi bar for the ultimate intimate dining experience. The Omakase Room will offer world-class cuisine coupled with one of Chicago’s largest Japanese whisky and sake programs.
For those who are familiar with Sushi San the restaurant, but have not had the pleasure of dining omakase with Chef Kaze, you will not want to miss this opportunity. We have enjoyed many meals prepared by Chef Kaze, and they easily top the charts as some of our most memorable experiences in Chicago to date. Below are some pictures from the recent pop-up omakase, Omakaze in the Sky at the top of the Willis Tower.
Joining Chef Kaze behind the bar is Chef Shigeru Kitano. With an impressive background studying in Japan, Chef Kitano's passion lie in respecting the Japanese Edo traditions while incorporating new ingredients into his practice.
The Omakase Room aims to break down the formality that often accompanies the omakase style of dining. Their menu and service pay homage to the spirit of Japanese omakase without keeping them from creative expression and flavor evolution.
The Omakase Room will offer two seatings a night. 5:30 and 8:30.
